The Town’s landfill array

The Town’s Landfill Solar Project page says the Town entered a public/private partnership “to install and operate a 6 Megawatt (23,000 photovoltaic panels) on the Town landfill cap”. The page puts the array at the Dennis Transfer Station and says it will be “one of the largest community-hosted photovoltaic projects in MA”. Its timeline lists a May 5, 2009 Annual Town Meeting vote on zoning for the landfill cap area and a November 15, 2011 Special Town Meeting vote to award the project, and says the project was “Connected to the grid and activated” on September 11, 2014.
