Solar in Town and news reports

In a January 2015 presentation to the Massachusetts Municipal Association, Mashpee’s Assistant Town Manager listed “1.83 MW of ground mounted solar” and “350 kW of roof mounted solar, across 4 buildings”. Those are 2015 Town-reported figures, and they may have changed. The Mashpee Public Library’s building page says the library’s solar energy system helps fuel the building. In December 2019, Cape Cod Online News reported that selectmen approved a power purchase agreement for solar panels at the public schools.

The panel cleaning reaches all of Mashpee, the Route 28 south side included. The 2012 economic development plan for the park, prepared by the Mashpee EDIC and the Cape Cod Commission, says the Mashpee Executive Park is “located on Route 28 just south of the town’s commercial center”, and it names Industrial Drive. The Natural Resources Department and the Harbormaster are at 31 Mercantile Way. The Department of Public Works is at 350 Meetinghouse Road, and the Transfer Station is at 380 Asher’s Path.
