The landfill array
A December 30, 2011 MassDEP letter approved the post-closure use of the Brewster landfill for a 1.2 megawatt solar photovoltaic array, subject to conditions. The letter describes approximately 4,600 PV modules on 500 support racks, and says the landfill occupies about 16 acres of an approximately 49-acre parcel owned and operated by the Town, with a Town transfer station and the Brewster DPW on the site.
