Frosty Fest, as the City lists it

The City of Sammamish lists Frosty Fest 2026 for Friday, December 11, at Building 120. The City says the event will take place at Building 120, “formerly known as the Central Washington University Building.” It calls the family-friendly event “a Sammamish tradition.” The listing is titled “Frosty Fest 2026: Magical Movie in a Winter Wonderland.” That is the City’s own event listing, not our work.

What two communities say about holiday lights

Klahanie Association’s Rules & Regulations, revised February 2024, say “Year-end” holiday decorations and lights “may be displayed continuously from the third weekend in November to the second weekend of January.” The Summer Ridge HOA’s governing-documents page says Article 2.7 was amended so “lights can be installed 45 days before and 35 days after all applicable winter holidays.” Each is that community’s own rule for its members.

Earlier years

The Issaquah Reporter reported in December 2016 that the City’s Very Merry Sammamish event, held at the Sammamish Commons Plaza, featured the lighting of the city’s holiday tree. A City news item posted December 11, 2025 listed Frosty Fest for Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at City Hall.

Around the Commons and Beaver Lake

Sammamish Commons has an upper and lower section connected by an accessible trail, in the City’s words. The City says Beaver Lake Lodge is a rental facility in Beaver Lake Park. Big Rock Park North is a 16-acre park, per the City.

A season, start to finish

Estimate. Free, and held on site.

Install. White or multicolor professional-grade LEDs are cut to the rooflines and held with clips alone. The connections are weather-rated, and installs go on through December.

Upkeep. If a strand or a section goes dark partway through the season, the crew comes back out to fix it. At season’s end the crew takes everything down, and the lights are stored by us.
