Klahanie, the HOA’s exterior criteria

Klahanie, by its own website, comprises 900 acres with 1,967 single family homes, 718 multifamily residences and 405 apartment units. The association’s compliance criteria, posted May 17, 2024, list conditions that lead it to request house painting. One reads “Mold on the exterior of the house is seen from the curb (power washing is an alternative to remove the mold).” That is Klahanie’s criteria list. It applies to Klahanie and names no business.

Driveway and concrete rules in two communities

Klahanie’s guidelines, revised May 2024, say of driveways “Only hard, stabilized gray surfaces will be considered including the following:” exposed aggregate, concrete or paver stone. Summer Ridge’s All Other Changes page says “concrete replacements must feature an exposed aggregate finish, to preserve community aesthetics.” Both are rules for new or replaced surfaces, in one community each.

Klahanie, Ebright Creek and the Crossings at Pine Lake

The City’s comp plan refers to the “Klahanie neighborhood,” annexed effective January 1, 2016. Klahanie Park is, per the City, a 64-acre park next to Challenger Elementary School. The park and the school both carry Klahanie Boulevard SE addresses. Ebright Creek Park opened in 2007 and was, in the City’s words, the first park the City designed and opened after incorporation. Creekside Elementary is, per the school district, located in Sammamish. The Crossings at Pine Lake describes itself as a community of 132 homes. The comp plan lists Fire Station #81 as Pine Lake.
