Holiday Lighting in Federal Way, WA

Federal Way homes and businesses can have holiday lighting put up by our crews, who are based in Redmond. The professional-grade LEDs come in white or multicolor. They are cut to the rooflines, held with clips only (nothing nailed or screwed in), and joined with weather-rated connections. These are leased lights: they stay ours, and customers pay per season.

The City’s tree lighting

The Federal Way Community Center’s event calendar, with City of Federal Way Parks and Recreation as organizer, lists the 2026 Holiday Tree Lighting at Town Square Park for December 5. The listing marks it free and says it includes “A visit from Santa”, live holiday music, hot cocoa and cookies, and “The Mayor’s annual tree lighting”. The Performing Arts and Event Center lists the Federal Way Symphony’s “A Very Vintage Christmas” concert on December 5, 2026 and says “The Federal Way city tree lighting will immediately follow the concert”. The Federal Way Mirror wrote that “Dozens of community members gathered to celebrate Federal Way’s tree lighting on Saturday, Dec. 3” in 2022. In a 2021 feature the Mirror said the City’s holiday tree in Town Square Park has been lit with LED lights since 2018. Town Square Park’s address is 31600 Pete von Reichbauer Way S, near the Performing Arts and Event Center. Others run these events; they are not our work.

The PAEC’s “Annual PAEC Holiday Festival 2026” is listed on Nov 28, 10:30 am to 2:30 pm. The PAEC calendar also lists holiday shows in November and December 2026. The Community Center lists “Cookies with Mrs. Claus 2026” for December 17, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm, at 876 S 333rd St. Pacific Bonsai Museum lists its 12th annual Winter Bonsai Solstice for December 12, 2026, from 4 pm to 7 pm. In December 2020 the Mirror reported that PowellsWood Garden was offering a new 12-night event called Winter Glow.

Museums, gardens and trails

Pacific Bonsai Museum is at 2515 S 336th St, and the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden is at 2525 S 336th St. The Weyerhaeuser/King County Aquatic Center is at 650 SW Campus Drive. Hanwoori Korean Gardens and the Panther Lake Trail are at 550 SW Campus Dr, and the City describes the trail as a .9 mile loop. Winco Park is at 106 SW Campus Dr.

A Federal Way lighting season

Estimate. Free, and given at the property.

Install. Installation continues through December.

Upkeep. When a section goes dark in the middle of the season, the crew is sent back to repair it. After the season comes takedown, and our storage holds the lights.
