What the City and Snohomish County publish about gutters

On the City’s Rain and Flooding page, one line of the preparation list reads “Clear your gutters and any storm drains to ensure proper drainage and avoid flooding.” The City’s low-impact-development guide, in its notes on disconnected downspouts, says to remove “any accumulated leaves and debris at least twice a year, and more often if you have overhanging trees”. Snohomish County’s RainScaping page says “Gutters on homes surrounded by deciduous trees will need to be cleaned in late fall after the leaves have been shed.” The same page suggests adding gutter screens and cleaning them “regularly”. The County page speaks for its own county, and the City describes Bothell as “Straddling two counties (King and Snohomish)”.
