Santa at the Centennial Fire Station, per the Civic Club

The Damascus Civic Club’s page for “Christmas in Damascus with Santa” says “Please join us on the first Friday of December as we help kick off the holiday season with a visit from Santa Claus.” It places the event in the equipment bay of the Centennial Fire Station on SE Highway 212 and says there is “no charge,” though it also mentions an optional donation. The page also says Clackamas Fire District No. 1 “will be well represented to help provide fire safety information to keep your holiday safe.”

The page prints no year, and the Civic Club’s home page files the event under “Annual Events.”

A park the Civic Club owns

The Civic Club’s own site says Damascus Centennial Park is “located in the heart of the community of Damascus” on SE Highway 212. It says the park is “privately owned by the Damascus Civic Club,” a 501(c)(4) organization, which formed in 1959 when residents held “a 100-day Centennial Celebration party.” The site mentions a pavilion, a gazebo and playground structures among its park improvements, and says part of the highway frontage “was given to the Fire District for use as a fire station.”

What the job involves

Estimate. Estimates are free and happen on site.

Install. Installation goes on through December, with lights cut to the roofline and set on clips.

Upkeep. Should a section of lights go dark in the season, the crew comes back out to repair it. Takedown follows the season, and the lights go back into our storage.
