Portland’s big holiday displays

Pioneer Courthouse Square, which the City’s parks page calls “Portland’s Living Room,” held its 41st Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 28, 2025; the Square describes Santa flipping the switch on nearly 10,000 colorful lights on the City’s tree. The Square lists its 42nd annual tree lighting for November 27, 2026.

The Oregon Zoo, part of Metro, greater Portland’s regional government, lists ZooLights for November 20, 2026 through January 3, 2027, with special nights earlier in November, and describes tunnels of glittering lights and dozens of life-size animal lanterns along the route.

On Peacock Lane in Southeast Portland, the residents say each house on the street has decorated for Christmas since 1932, and that the houses are mostly Tudors. In 2025 the lane was open December 15 through 31, with pedestrian-only nights on December 19 and 20.

How we work

Estimate at the house. We come out, look at the building, and give you a free estimate on site.

Clipped, not nailed. Each LED run follows a roofline and attaches with clips, so no nails or screws go into the siding or trim. The connections are weather-rated.

Kept lit, then taken down. If part of the display goes dark mid-season, call us and a crew returns to repair it. When the season ends, the display comes down, and the lights go into our storage for the year.

The ideal time to call is early fall. Installs continue into December, though, so it isn’t too late once the season has started.

Portland General Electric’s outdoor-safety page says to keep yourself and your equipment at least 20 feet away from power lines, and to use only heavy-duty, grounded, three-pronged extension cords rated for outdoor use.
