Holiday Lighting in Tigard, OR
RESIDENTIAL SERVICES

Clearly Amazing crews light homes and businesses in Tigard with professional-grade LED, in white or multicolor. The lights are cut to the rooflines and mounted on clips only, so nothing is nailed or screwed into the house. Connections are weather-rated, installs run through December, and the lights are leased for the season, which means they remain ours and spend the off-season in our storage.

The tree lighting at Universal Plaza
The City’s recap of its December 9, 2025 council meeting, posted December 10, says in its City Manager Report that “the tree lighting at Universal Plaza welcomed around 300 guests.” The Tigard Downtown Alliance’s own event listing put the Holiday Tree Lighting at Universal Plaza on December 5, 2025, from 5 pm to 9 pm. Its approximate schedule listed Santa’s arrival at 6:30 pm and the tree lighting at 6:45 pm.
A November 24, 2025 preview in Your Oregon News called it the “annual Tigard tree lighting ceremony” and ran a photo caption that reads “In Tigard, Santa always arrives aboard a TVF&R ladder truck.” The City’s Universal Plaza page, for 9100 Burnham Street, lists “Lighting throughout the plaza” among its features. The 2025 tree lighting was listed by the Tigard Downtown Alliance, and none of it is ours.

The Holiday Lights Walk, as previewed
The same newspaper preview listed a Holiday Lights Walk for 6:30 to 8:30 pm on Saturday, December 13, 2025, and said the gathering “features illuminated homes.” That walk is a neighborhood event, and it is not ours either.
Holiday rules in Summerfield and Tigard Woods
The City’s Building Services page says “The City of Tigard does not enforce codes, covenants and restrictions of neighborhood homeowners associations.” Some communities write their own holiday rules, and two public ones are quoted here.
The Summerfield Civic Association’s Architectural / Landscape Manual, 07/2025 revision, says “Seasonal/Holiday décor, including lighting, is allowed” and “All holiday decorations and lighting must be removed within two weeks after the holiday.” It calls string lights “permissible for holiday décor, but not permitted for year-round use,” and says “Type and placement of exterior lighting devices must be approved by the Committee.”
The Tigard Woods Condominium Association’s Rules and Regulations, effective July 1, 2014, say “Holiday lighting may not be attached to siding or trim, and must be removed within two (2) weeks following the holiday.” The 2014 edition is the newest we could find. Those two are rules for their own communities; the City did not write them, and we neither set nor enforce them.
Power lines and outdoor outlets, from PGE
The City’s Solar Energy Resources page calls Portland General Electric “our electric utility.” On its Outdoor Safety page PGE says to keep “at least 20 feet away from power lines” for yourself and your equipment, and it says Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters are “a good investment for all outdoor outlets” and help guard against serious injury. Those lines come from a general outdoor safety page, not a holiday one, and they are PGE’s words.
How many housing units Tigard has
The Census Bureau’s 2024 five-year estimates put Tigard’s housing stock at 23,877 units. Of those, 57.1 percent are detached one-unit homes (13,625), 9.0 percent are attached one-unit homes (2,154) and 24.8 percent sit in buildings of five or more units (5,930). Those count housing units, not rooflines or strings of lights.

Tigard holiday lighting questions
What does Summerfield’s manual say about holiday lighting?
The community’s manual, 07/2025 revision, says holiday décor including lighting is allowed and that holiday lighting must come down within two weeks after the holiday. It also says string lights are not permitted for year-round use. That is Summerfield’s rule for Summerfield.

No. The lights stay ours, you lease them by the season, and we keep them in storage between seasons.
Who installs the lights, and what insurance do the installers carry?
Our crews are our own employees, and a certificate is available upon request for their workers’ compensation and general liability coverage.
Do you light commercial buildings in Tigard?
Yes, commercial holiday lighting is part of the work alongside residential.
