A closed landfill off Queen Anne Road

A December 22, 2011 MassDEP letter approves the Harwich municipal landfill’s post-closure use for solar power, in the letter’s words a “4 megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic (PV) array”. It describes the site as “an approximately 120 acre site assigned parcel of Town owned land off Queen Anne Road” and says the array was to use “Approximately 17,000 PV modules”.

Solar Power World reported on December 17, 2021 that a “dual-located rooftop and ground-mounted solar array totaling 273.7 kW” had been completed at the Cranberry Valley Golf Course in Harwich. An Ameresco press release describes a ribbon cutting hosted by MassDOT and DOER in Harwich for “a 318 kW-DC solar canopy at MassDOT’s Park and Ride location”.
