Gutter lines on the City’s flood pages

The City’s Emergency Management flood page lists, among its other ways to prepare, “Clear debris and leaves from roof gutters and downspouts.” Public Works’ page on preparing a property’s drainage system says “Inspect and maintain any drainage structures, including roof gutters and downspouts on your property.” Its gutters and downspouts checklist adds “Inspect your gutters and downspouts for damage or leaks.” and “Clear leaves and debris from gutters and downspouts.” These are the City’s lists for residents, and none of them names a company.

One line from a wood-roof publication

A Pacific Northwest Extension publication on wood shingle and shake roofs says that failing to keep gutters clean “can result in water backups”, which it describes as reaching the lowest course of the roof. It is written about wood roofs only.

Juanita and Forbes Creek

The City’s comprehensive plan page includes a Juanita Neighborhood Plan. Juanita High School is at 10601 NE 132nd Street, and Juanita Elementary at 9635 NE 132nd Street. Edith Moulton Park is a City park in the Juanita neighborhood, and the City says McAuliffe Park “is located on a historic farm site in Kirkland’s Juanita neighborhood.” North Kirkland Community Center Park is at 12421 103rd Avenue NE, and Fire Station 21 at 9816 Forbes Creek Drive. Juanita Drive is one of the roads the City names in its Vision Zero page, and it carries on beyond the city limits.
