Solar over the police station parking lot
On October 23, 2020, the Town posted a news item saying the Police Department was “in the midst of a new solar installation, which includes two canopies extending over the station parking lot”. The Cape & Vineyard Electric Cooperative’s projects table lists “Sandwich Police Station” as a behind-the-meter project. The Police Department is on Cotuit Road.

Solar cleaning is available throughout Sandwich, the South Sandwich area included. Cotuit Road and South Sandwich Road are Town roads there, and Farmersville Road is a Town scenic road. The Sandwich Fire Department is also on Cotuit Road. The Boyden Farm Conservation Lands lie on the west side of Cotuit Road, and the Ryder Conservation Area is off Cotuit Road and South Sandwich Road. Ryder-Wakeby Park is off South Sandwich Road.
