Sandblasting in the City’s historic-home guidelines

The City’s design guidelines for owners of historic homes (revised 2002) say sandblasting “and other cleaning methods that will damage the historic building materials shall not be undertaken.” That is the City’s standard for historic buildings. It names no company.

Kit Carson Park and Bear Valley Parkway

The City calls Kit Carson Park, at 3333 Bear Valley Parkway, “its largest regional park.” Queen Califia’s Magical Circle is in the park, the City says. The City acquired the land for Kit Carson Park from the City of San Diego in 1967. The City says the Escondido Sports Center’s soccer arenas have “artificial turf, professional dasher boards, player and penalty boxes, scoreboard, elevated grandstands, and stadium lighting.” The Sports Center is at 3315 Bear Valley Parkway, and San Pasqual High School is at 3300 Bear Valley Parkway. Fire Station 4 is at 3301 Bear Valley Parkway, and the Iris Sankey Botanical Trail is listed at 3333 Bear Valley Parkway, inside the park. The Soccer Park at Kit Carson is listed at 3315 Bear Valley Parkway.
