Strand Way, Glorietta Bay and City Hall

The City gives Coronado City Hall as 1825 Strand Way and the Community Center as 1845 Strand Way. The Boathouse is listed at 1985 Strand Way and the Glorietta Bay Marina at 1715 Strand Way. Of Glorietta Bay Park the City says it is “south of the Coronado Community Center”. One City facility page places a park “between Glorietta Boulevard and Ynez Place”.

Roof styles in the City’s Historic Context Statement

The City’s adopted Historic Context Statement describes the Mediterranean Revival style, 1900 to 1942, with “Clay tile roofs or roof trim, typically hipped”. For the Shingle style, 1886 to 1940, it lists “Wall cladding and roofing of continuous wood shingles”. It also says a 1944 development of 154 single-family houses was built with stucco exteriors and composition shingle roofs. These are style descriptions the City uses when it evaluates historic resources, plus one development as built. They do not describe the roofs on Coronado houses today, and they say nothing about cleaning.

Roof permits, as the City and the Historical Association describe them

The City’s Building Services page lists “Residential Re-Roof ( Non-historic properties , like for like )” among the permits that can be requested by email for over-the-counter service. The Coronado Historical Association says a Historic Resource Alteration Permit, which applies to designated resources, can involve updating a roof.

The library roof

The Coronado Times reported in April 2026 that staff recommended replacing the Coronado Public Library’s thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) roof with a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) system. The article says construction is slated to begin in 2028. That is one public building, and it is not about houses.

The crew photographs any problem it finds up there and shares the pictures with you.

Clean

Low pressure does the cleaning, along with eco-friendly products. The plants beside the house are soaked. Heavy, thick, unmaintained growth is lightly brushed.

Gutters

After the roof, we clear the gutters.
