Gutter tips from a City Bulletin and Ohio State

A winterizing checklist in the City’s December 2025 Bulletin includes the line “Clean out gutters and downspouts, and drain all outside hoses.” The checklist credits Hamilton County Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency as its source.

A mosquito fact sheet from Ohio State University Extension lists regularly removing organic waste, so that gutters drain properly, as one prevention step. An Ohio State article lists “cracked or overflowing gutters, misdirected downspouts” among the things to look for around the house. Both are statewide pieces and do not mention Montgomery.
