Historic districts in Covington

The City’s Historic Preservation Office page says Covington has 17 National Registered Historic Districts and the second-highest number of properties listed in the National Register of Historic Places in Kentucky.

The City’s Historic Covington Design Guidelines describe the MainStrasse local historic district as about 800 buildings, most of them residences. The same document says Main Street has historically been the district’s commercial center, with two- and three-story buildings that have stone and cast-iron storefronts.

An archived copy of the Kenton County Public Library’s page puts its Covington branch on the corner of 5th and Scott in downtown Covington.
