Stucco and shingle in the City’s style descriptions

Coronado’s adopted Historic Context Statement lists “Stucco exterior walls” among the features of the Mediterranean Revival style. For the Mission Revival style it lists “Exterior material stucco painted natural color”. It describes the Shingle style as having “Wall cladding and roofing of continuous wood shingles”. The statement also says a 1944 development of 154 houses was built with stucco exteriors.

Those are style descriptions used when the City evaluates historic resources. They do not describe what stands in Coronado today, and they say nothing about cleaning.

Sixth Street, the schools and the parks

Village Elementary School gives its address as 600 Sixth Street, and the Coronado Fire Headquarters is listed at 1001 Sixth Street. Coronado High School is at 650 D Avenue and Coronado Middle School at 550 F Avenue. The City lists Cronan Park at 500 Pomona Avenue and Mathewson Park at 705 Adella Avenue.
