University Avenue and the places along it

The City describes a study of the University Avenue corridor “to determine the improvements necessary for the revitalization of University Avenue.” Porter Park Fitness Plaza is listed at 8425 University Avenue, and the City says the Adult Enrichment Center “is located in Porter Park.”

What the City’s codes say about property upkeep

The commercial-zones chapter of La Mesa’s municipal code says exterior finishes “shall be maintained to avoid the appearance of deterioration or disrepair from excessive weathering.” The residential-zones chapter says “All fences, buildings and accessory structures shall be maintained in good condition.” Neither passage mentions washing, so they are standards about upkeep and not cleaning schedules.

The historic preservation title says “Nothing in this Title shall be construed to prevent ordinary maintenance that does not involve alteration of any exterior architectural feature.” That title is about designated landmarks, and it is silent on pressure washing.

Green on hard surfaces, from UC

The University of California’s Statewide IPM Program says “Algae and mosses on sidewalks or other hard surfaces make them slippery, perhaps unsightly, and unsafe for walking.” That is statewide guidance written mainly about plants. It is not a statement about La Mesa, and it names no company.

How a pressure washing job goes

Estimate. Free, and on site.

Clean. We manage the runoff path. Driveways, walkways and patios get pressure, and the crew also brings a surface cleaner for some flatwork, depending on the job. Products are eco-friendly. We soak the plants nearby.
