What the Zoning Code says about glass in two business districts
In the City’s December 2021 edition of the Zoning Code, section 150.52(E) says transparent windows or doors “shall occupy a minimum of 50% of the area of a primary facade between two and ten feet from the grade at the sidewalk” in the Downtown District (B-1). Subsection (F) says “Opaque glazing or mirrored glazing shall be prohibited.” In the Residential-Scale Business Overlay District, the same edition says “Windows and glazing shall not exceed 35% of the total area of the facade.”
