Before and after holiday lighting installation by Clearly Amazing

Clearly Amazing crews drive over from our Portland / Tigard office to put holiday lights on Gresham homes and businesses. Professional-grade LED comes in white or multicolor, cut to the rooflines. The connections are weather-rated. The lights go up on clips, so nothing is nailed or screwed in. Season by season the lights are leased, and they remain ours; between seasons we store them.

The Spirit of Christmas on the City’s calendar

The City of Gresham’s events calendar lists the Spirit of Christmas for Saturday, December 5, 2026, in historic downtown Gresham on North Main Avenue. Its schedule lists the parade of lights at 5:00 pm and the tree lighting at 6:15 pm at the Arts Plaza. The listing says the event “is presented by the Center for the Arts Foundation.” The listing is the City’s, the date is the organizer’s to confirm, and the event is not ours.

Last season’s evening and earlier City releases

The City’s 2025 listing gave Saturday, December 6, 2025 for the parade of lights. A Portland Tribune story carried on KOIN.com reported that “Downtown Gresham was transformed into the North Pole” on Saturday, December 6, for the event. A City release of December 1, 2021 announced “the 30th annual Spirit of Christmas event” for Saturday, December 4, and said it would include “the first ever Holiday Light Cruise”. A November 2017 release called that year’s edition the “26th annual Spirit of Christmas event,” set for Saturday, November 25.

Reindeer in Rockwood

The City’s 2025 calendar listed Reindeer in Rockwood for Friday, December 19, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Rockwood Market Hall, and said it was “hosted by Gresham Parks and Recreation.” That was a 2025 listing.

Staying clear of power lines, per PGE

Portland General Electric’s guidance, in a July 2026 archived copy of its Outdoor Safety page, advises keeping yourself and your gear “at least 20 feet away from power lines.” This is PGE’s general outdoor guidance, not a holiday page.

Owner-occupied homes, by the Census count

Owners occupy 23,309 of the 41,801 occupied homes in Gresham (55.8 percent), by the Census Bureau’s 2024 five-year estimates. That figure is silent on rooflines.

What the job involves

Estimate. The on-site estimate costs nothing.

Install. Clips hold the lights, which are cut to the roofline, and installs run through December.

Upkeep. If a section goes dark mid-season, we send a crew back out to repair it. We take the lights down after the season and keep them in our storage.

From Cleveland Avenue to Red Sunset Park

Lighting is available throughout Gresham, and estimates cover homes and businesses in the North Central neighborhood and along NE Cleveland Avenue, where TriMet’s station list puts the Cleveland Ave MAX station “at 8th & Cleveland”.

The City’s Arts Plaza page puts the plaza “in the heart of historic downtown Gresham”. Main City Park is “located directly on the Springwater Trail”, and Cedar Neighborhood Park is a 0.3-acre park next to the TriMet parking structure. Red Sunset Park is a 14.2-acre community park in the North Central neighborhood.

Gresham holiday lighting questions

Who owns the lights?

We do. The lights are leased season by season, and our storage holds them between seasons.

Who is on the install crews?

Our crews are our own employees. General liability applies, and so does workers’ compensation; certificates are available upon request.

Do you light businesses too?

Yes, we light businesses as well as homes.
