University Avenue, Kettering and the west side

Roof cleaning covers the west side along with the rest of the city. Kettering University gives 1700 University Avenue as its address, and Atwood Stadium’s is 701 University Avenue. Hurley Medical Center lists One Hurley Plaza, and McLaren Flint lists 401 South Ballenger Highway. In the City’s directory, the Haskell Youth Community Center is at 2201 Forest Hill Avenue. Mott Park Recreation Area and Bassett Park appear in the Parks Plan, and Civic Park on the Planning Division’s neighborhood-groups map.

Roof lines from the sources

An archived copy of MSU Extension’s 2018 home maintenance article has the line “Look for signs of damage on the roof and in the attic for water leaks”. An archived 2021 copy of Flint’s City Code adopts a model property maintenance code by reference, and section 304.7 of that model code’s 2012 edition includes “Roof drainage shall be adequate to prevent dampness or deterioration in the walls or interior portion of the structure”. The National Park Service’s guidance for historic buildings includes “Remove biological growth where it is causing erosion or exfoliation of roofing”. The wording is each source’s own, and none of it describes our work.
