Before and after holiday lighting installation by Clearly Amazing

Crews from our San Diego office hang holiday lights on La Mesa homes and businesses. The LEDs are professional-grade and come in white or multicolor, and they are cut to the rooflines of the building. They attach with clips only and use weather-rated connections, so nothing gets nailed or screwed in. The lights remain ours and you pay per season. We take them down afterward and keep them in our storage.

Holiday in the Village, as the organizer lists it

The La Mesa Village Association lists the “11th annual Holiday in the Village event” for Saturday, December 12, 2026, noon to 9 pm. Its page puts the event on La Mesa Boulevard between Spring Street and 4th Street. The page also lists an Elf Scavenger Hunt that says “Find all 12 elves hiding in the storefronts” along the boulevard. The City’s calendar listed the 10th annual event for Saturday, December 13, 2025, noon to 9 pm. Those are listings from the Village Association and the City, not ours.

A light stroll the City listed

The City’s calendar listed a La Mesa Walks! Holiday Light Stroll for December 17, 2025, meeting at La Mesita Park, 8855 Dallas Street, at 5 pm. The listing says the walk would start at 5:30 pm on “an easy, mostly flat route to enjoy the holiday lights in the neighborhood.”

What La Mesa’s sign code says about decorations

La Mesa’s sign code lists items “excluded from the definition of ‘sign’ for the regulatory purposes of this chapter,” and item 15 is “Seasonal and holiday decorations.” That is a line in the sign code. It is not a lighting code, and the words are the City’s.

Safety tips from the utility

SDG&E’s holiday lights post, dated December 11, 2019 and read in the copy the Internet Archive saved on April 18, 2024, says outdoor electric lights “should be plugged into circuits protected by ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs).” The tips name no company.
