Before and after holiday lighting installation by Clearly Amazing

Clearly Amazing designs, installs, maintains and removes holiday lighting in La Center. We use commercial-grade product cut to your rooflines rather than store-bought strings stretched to fit, everything attaches with clips rather than fasteners driven into the house, and the connections are weather-rated because they spend the season out in a La Center winter. Two things shape the job here: it gets dark early, and it gets wet, so the lights are doing most of their work in the rain.

The lights come on when the town does

La Center leans into the season. Downtown holds its Christmas Festival on 4th Street between Aspen and Cedar, with the Santa Stride 5K, a Lighted Christmas Parade, and a tree lighting at 5 p.m. followed by fireworks. Santa House Calls have been visiting La Center homes for more than twenty years. That 5 o’clock tree lighting is telling: in mid-December the sun sets here around 4:26 p.m., so the town’s big moment happens after dark on purpose. A house that is already lit for that first week of December is lit for the part of the season everyone is out looking.

That early dark is the real argument for a display. From late November the useful daylight is gone by half past four, so the hours you actually see your house are the dark ones, and a clean roofline of lights is what turns a wet December evening into something worth pulling into the driveway for.

Booking early buys dry ladders and your pick of dates

La Center is wet in the run-up to the holidays. The nearest long-run weather station, at Battle Ground, averages more than seven and a half inches of rain in both November and December. Snow is rare here; what a crew actually works around is rain, wind and a short afternoon.

That is the case for booking early. Late October and the first half of November are the ideal install window — drier surfaces, usable daylight, and a calendar with room in it, so you get first pick of dates. Later installs are completely normal and we do plenty of them. Every December brings people who have just confirmed they are hosting, or simply decided the place should be lit, and we install right through December. A wet roofline is a method question, not a reason to say no — it means more care on ladder footing and anchor points. If you are calling in December, call: a house lit on the fifteenth is lit for the whole heart of the season.

What the job involves

Every install runs the same way.

Walk the house in daylight. We measure the rooflines, count the peaks and returns, find the power, and agree what gets lit and what does not. A question worth asking early is who actually sees the house — a place on the newer streets up in Southview Heights reads from a distance, while a house on a quiet lane near the East Fork Lewis River is mostly seen from its own driveway.

Build to the measurements. Strands are cut to length for your roofline, so a run finishes where the roof finishes instead of doubling back or leaving a dark stretch at the end. Everything attaches with clips sized to the edge it sits on — gutter lip, shingle edge or trim — and nothing is nailed, screwed or stapled into the house. Sockets and connections are weather-rated, because they spend the season in the rain.

Keep it running, then take it down. Things fail in the first serious storm — a bulb, a clip, a connection that took a gust. If a strand or a section goes dark during the season, call and we come back out and fix it; keeping the display lit is part of the job, not an extra. Takedown happens once the season is over, so the set does not live up on the roof until spring.

Areas we cover in La Center

We light houses across La Center and the surrounding area, including downtown around 4th Street, Sternwheeler Park and Holley Park, the newer neighborhoods through Southview Heights and north of the river, and the rural properties out toward Paradise Point and along the East Fork Lewis River. We do commercial frontage as well as homes — the storefronts along 4th Street benefit from a lit season as much as any house.

When to schedule in La Center

Call in September or October, install in late October or the first half of November. Dry surfaces, usable daylight, and first pick of dates — and the house is lit and ready before the Christmas Festival weekend rather than scrambling for it.

Later is genuinely fine. We install all through December, and plenty of La Center homes go up after Thanksgiving or in the first week of the month once the town’s events bring the season into focus. The only thing booking late costs you is choice of dates, not the display.

Questions La Center customers ask

Is it too late if I call in December?

No. We install right through December. A later install is a scheduling question, not a quality one — the lights look the same in the third week as the first.

What happens if a section goes out mid-season?

Call us and we come back and repair it. Storms take out a bulb or a connection now and then, and keeping the display lit through the season is part of what you are paying for, not an add-on.

Will it hold up through a La Center winter?

That is what the commercial-grade product and weather-rated connections are for. The clips are chosen for the edge they sit on so wind does not walk a run loose, and if the weather does find a weak point, we come fix it.

Can you do more than the roofline?

Yes — trees, wreaths, garland, railings and pathway lighting are all part of a design. We walk the property and lay out options at the estimate.

Do you take it down, or is that on me?

We take it down at the end of the season. You are not the one back up a wet ladder in January.
