A tree lighting the Coast News reported

A Coast News report dated December 13, 2012 says “About 300 people turned out for the inaugural event”. The paper described it as a tree lighting outside the Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club.

The Association’s exterior lighting regulation

The Rancho Santa Fe Association’s Exterior Lighting Regulation defines exterior lighting as including “permanent or portable search, spot or flood, decorative, security, or other lighting for the outside of buildings or structures”. One stated purpose is “to minimize outdoor lighting nuisances to private properties and public spaces”. The regulation, as posted on the Association’s website, does not mention holiday or seasonal lighting.

El Fuego, La Sendita and the Community Center

The Rancho Santa Fe Fire Protection District lists Station 1 at 16936 El Fuego, and says it “was originally built in 1949”. The District says it “was formed on October 14, 1946”. The Rancho Santa Fe Community Center is at 5970 La Sendita, and the Association describes it as “located in the heart of the Rancho Santa Fe Covenant”.

Care and takedown. If a strand or a section stops working midseason, we come back out and repair it. Once the season ends we take everything down and store it.
