Stucco in the Association’s documents

The Rancho Santa Fe Association’s Exterior Materials chapter says “Stucco (integral color or painted), shall generally be light in color and value including earth tones”. The chapter also quotes Paragraph 159 of the Protective Covenant: “Plaster, adobe or stucco exterior wall surfaces of a durable construction or concrete, stone or an artificial stone approved by the Art Jury are to be preferred”. Those are review standards for buildings the Association’s Art Jury looks at. They say nothing about cleaning.

Spanish Colonial Revival in the Village

The Association’s history page says the architect Lilian Rice “incorporated the Spanish Colonial Revival style of architecture, which can still be seen in many of the historical buildings in the Village”. The Association’s maintenance regulation lists “exterior building walls” among the items an owner is responsible for.

Ewing Preserve and streets the Association names

The Association places Ewing Preserve “in the southeast section of Rancho Santa Fe between Linea del Cielo and Via del Alba”. Linea del Cielo, Rambla de las Flores and El Secreto each turn up in the Covenant text as roads bounding a tract. Via del Alba is the other street the Association names in that description.
