Santa photos, pet photos and a market at Springfield Town Center

Springfield Town Center sits at the meeting of I-95, I-395, I-495 and Fairfax Parkway, by the mall’s own description. Its event pages list Santa photos in the Grand Court from November 13 through December 24, 2026, with online reservations recommended and walk-ups welcome based on availability. Pet photos with Santa are listed for Mondays, November 16 through December 14. The mall’s Holiday Market, also in the Grand Court, is listed for November 27–29, December 4–6, December 11–13 and December 18–20, with more than 30 vendors and Empower Me Events Group named as the organizer. Those are the mall’s listings as we read them at the end of September.

Last year the mall held a Welcome Santa celebration on Saturday, November 15, 2025. FFXnow reported beforehand that the Greater Springfield Volunteer Fire Department would escort Santa into the mall, with Mickey and Minnie Mouse alongside.

Newington’s thirty-day holiday window

The Architectural Standards of the Newington Community Association speak to seasonal decorations directly: “Holiday decorations are permitted on the exterior of a home thirty (30) days prior and thirty (30) days after a major holiday.” That is one association’s rule for its own community, which the association describes as 609 properties across Newington Station, Newington Glen, Newington Place and Woodmere. It is not a Springfield-wide rule or a county rule.

The standards say nothing about how lights are fastened or who hangs them.

What the job involves

Plan. We visit the property, look at each roofline and agree where the lights start and stop. The estimate is free.

Clip. Clips are the only fasteners, so no nail or screw goes into the house, and every connection is weather-rated.

Come back. When part of a display stops working partway through the season, a crew comes back to repair it. At the end of the season we remove the lights and put them into storage.

Questions Springfield customers ask

Does the county have holiday lighting guidance?
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue’s holiday safety page tells residents to use flame-proof decorations, check the wiring on electrical decorations before hanging them and avoid extension cords. That is the department’s advice to residents, and it is separate from anything we do.

Am I buying the lights?
No. It is a seasonal lease: the strands remain ours, and we keep them in storage between seasons.

Can you light a business?
We do. Storefronts and offices can have holiday lighting too.

What insurance do you carry?
Our crews are our own employees, covered by workers’ compensation and general liability insurance, and a certificate of insurance is available upon request.
