The November 2024 edition of the North Bethany Subarea Plan lists the exterior materials allowed on street-facing facades in its Main Street district. The list includes masonry, stucco, stone, horizontal lapped siding and fiber-cementitious panel siding. It says its building-material standards “apply only to street facing façades in the NCMU NB District.”
Where the plan requires articulated facades facing public space, one of the listed details is “a minimum of two types of siding treatment.” Both passages are design rules for new buildings in North Bethany. They say nothing about the walls of any house already built, or about washing them.
