Solar chapter of the Association’s Code

The Rancho Santa Fe Association’s Solar Energy Systems chapter says a system’s installation is considered “major construction” and will “require issuance of an Association permit prior to construction or installation.” It adds “All solar energy systems are subject to review by the Association and the Art Jury.” Its design list, which opens “Where reasonably possible”, includes “Panel material should be dark in color.” and “Height of panels on roof-top installations should not exceed 6 inches above the plane of the roof”. The chapter does not mention cleaning.

A Santa Fe Irrigation District news post from April 2026 says the solar installation is “located at the R.E. Badger Filtration Treatment Plant in Rancho Santa Fe”. That post describes a water treatment plant owned jointly by two water districts, and says nothing about cleaning panels.

The Association describes Osuna Ranch as “a working horse ranch and the site of an historic adobe home”, at 16332 Via de Santa Fe. It says the Juan Maria Osuna Adobe was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
