A planned community that mixes houses, condominiums and commercial property
Lansdowne is a Census-designated place in Loudoun County, so it has no town government of its own. According to the Lansdowne Conservancy’s FAQ, it began in the 1970s, when Xerox Corporation created the Xerox Training Center, which is now the National Conference Center. The same FAQ says Xerox originally rezoned the whole 2,267-acre development as a Corporate Center.
The Conservancy describes its members as all of the property owners and sub-associations in Lansdowne. The list it gives includes the Lansdowne Woods condominium associations, Cadence HOA, Vistas HOA, Lansdowne on the Potomac HOA and Lansdowne Village Green HOA. It also includes the Lansdowne Resort, Inova Loudoun Hospital, the National Conference Center, the Saul Centers shopping center, Camden Apartments and the office buildings. Lansdowne on the Potomac’s own website puts its size at 2,155 homes. Houses, condominium buildings and commercial property all sit inside one development, and we quote holiday lighting for homes and for businesses alike.
What the resort has done in past seasons
Lansdowne Resort’s own event page listed a free tree lighting on November 29, 2024, from 4:00 to 5:30 pm, with reservations required. The page described a 25-foot tree wrapped in thousands of lights. The Loudoun Chamber’s listing for Winter WonderLansdowne gave November 21, 2025 through January 12, 2026, and the resort’s press page described igloos, an outdoor skating rink and fire pits, along with what it called “the annual Breakfasts with Santa.” Those are past events.
What a 1992 Corporate Center document says about exterior lighting
The Conservancy posts its Design Guidelines for the Corporate Center, dated July 1, 1992. For commercial lots in that Corporate Center, section 5.3.3 says: “Bare-lamp decorative lighting shall not be used on the exterior of buildings.” The document does not mention holiday lighting. It is written for Corporate Center lots. A Conservancy committee summary refers to its “Design Guidelines as amended July 2016,” so today’s text may read differently from the 1992 file. We are quoting what one dated document says, not stating a rule for your building.

What the job involves
Measure. At the estimate we look at your rooflines and agree what gets lit.
Hang. Nothing is nailed or screwed into the building, because clips do all the holding. We schedule installs through December.
Keep it lit. When a section of the display goes dark, we return for a mid-season repair. Once the season is over, the takedown is ours too, and so is the storage.
